As part of a collaborative initiative, Trifork and GOTO have organised a series of free masterclass taster events with GOTO experts and Trifork Software Engineers & Architects, leading up to the GOTO Academy’s masterclass week in May. This week will consist of back-to-back virtual masterclasses with some of the biggest names in the software industry!

About the event

Join us in this free 1-hour Design APIs masterclass taster hosted by Trifork’s Software Engineer, Masoud Parvari, and led by author & speaker, Mike Amundsen. During the session, you’ll be introduced to the basics of simple and elegant API design.

The taster consists of a presentation, hands-on exercise, and Q&A session, and will cover the following topics:

  • The value of an API-First approach
  • The importance of documenting API Stories
  • The value of Model-Design-Describe for a Unified API Design Process

About Mike Amundsen

An internationally known author and speaker, Mike Amundsen travels the world consulting and talking about network architecture, Web development, and the intersection of technology and society. He works with companies large and small to help them capitalize on the opportunities APIs and microservices present for both consumers and the enterprise.

Amundsen has authored numerous books and papers. He contributed to the O’Reilly Media book Continuous API Management (2018). His RESTful Web Clients was published by O’Reilly in February 2017, and he co-authored Microservice Architecture (June 2016). Amundsen’s 2013 collaboration with Leonard Richardson RESTful Web APIs and his 2011 book Building Hypermedia APIs with HTML5 and Node are common references for building adaptable Web applications. His latest book Design and Build Great Web APIs was published in September, 2020.

About Masoud Parvari

Masoud is a Lead Software Engineer with a heavy focus on Java and its ecosystem. Masoud always loves to deep dive into fundamentals and under the hood magics, whether it’s about JDK internals and data structures or higher level frameworks like Spring. Masoud also really enjoys building systems where performance and scalability are the main concerns.

Since joining Trifork in March 2018, Masoud has been mostly busy with building reactive applications and bringing concepts like Event Sourcing and Domain-Driven Design into production. Keeping up with the latest tech and following how the whole Java ecosystem is evolving, has turned his job into his biggest hobby.
