Denmark, Aarhus, September 6, 2021 – Global NextGen IT company Trifork Group, who is behind popular digital healthcare solutions such as My Doctor App, Shared Medication Record, the Danish Vaccination Register and the Danish Pharmacy App, joins the digital health start-up company Visikon as co-owner. Visikon has developed My TreatmentTM, small animated videos that support a clear, easy-to-understand and universal form of communication for patients that are facing medical treatment.
The co-investment by Trifork Labs in Visikon supports the vision of investing in tech start-ups, where Trifork promotes joint development and not only acts as an incubator or investment fund. Trifork has extensive experience with patient data, security and integration, while Visikon has experience with animated videos that give patients a better overview of their treatment.
The visual language gives patients a more complete understanding of their health and treatment over time, which can improve both treatment and rehabilitation processes and save time for the health care staff. Treatments, that may seem simple to clinicians, can seem chaotic to the patients facing them, and it can be difficult to absorb large amounts of information and understand the whole process at the same time. This visual and relevant communication fits well with Trifork’s ambition to always take patients by the hand throughout the patient journey.
“With Trifork as our new co-owner, Visikon will become even stronger, both in Denmark and abroad. We see it as a great advantage to be able to team up with Trifork and, therefore, have the opportunity and competencies to handle confidential patient information as part of our own solution to strengthen the My TreatmentTM proposition. Since we founded Visikon, our mission has been to free up resources for patients and healthcare professionals by providing healthcare communications that everyone can understand, while supporting high quality care. This fits perfectly with Trifork’s DNA, and as part of Trifork, we are now making every effort to grow and scale our solutions in Denmark, as well as globally”says Anders Nejsum, co-founder and CEO of Visikon
“Visikon’s solution supports Trifork’s mission to help patients and their relatives in taking an active part in the course of their disease and treatment. We see further potential by integrating My TreatmentTM into existing healthcare solutions and, therefore, help support the entire patient journey. We develop solutions for the entire lifespan from cradle to grave and My TreatmentTM is a valuable element. We expect growth potential in Denmark and internationally from combining our competencies. Visikon offers a fantastic product that is scalable and ready for export, while Trifork provides a strong foundation and extensive experience within patient data, safety and integration with other healthcare systems”says Karen Skjerbæk Jørgensen, VP and responsible for Trifork Digital Health
