Tell me a bit about yourself and what you do at OpenCredo?

Sure! I am a Lead Consultant at OpenCredo and my main interests and expertise are within the graph and data space. Ultimately my job is to help our clients get the best out of data platforms where they can access the good quality data and understand the customer needs to improve their processes to be able to deliver value. My day to day usually is going to the client but since we are remote I don’t have to go anywhere. We have daily reviews and understand the daily requirements and check the backlogs to see what tasks we can do and to able to fix if there is a problem or improve and implement a new feature on scam detection or understanding data science problems. Need to improve the accuracy of the models and deploy them in a scalable infrastructure.

Without giving too much away can you tell us about the project you are currently on?

Right now I am working on a project focused on improving our client’s fraud detection capabilities. We are using Graph and ML technologies to help deduct fraudulent transactions on online systems and uncover what type of customers are fraudulent so we can associate, understand and find the hidden links between them.

What drew you to OpenCredo?

The culture! It was clear that OpenCredo values openness and transparency with customers and employees. Glassdoor mentioned that we are a family of geniuses and this continues to challenge and push me forward. Everyone is super excited and knowledgeable and I enjoy being in that environment.Everyone is super excited and knowledgeable and Glassdoor mentioned that we are a family of geniuses. One of the things that challenged me is that there are so many genius smart people around. I am enjoying, being curious and learning something new every day.

What has surprised you about OpenCredo? Something you didn’t expect before?

There isn’t any hierarchy and everyone is equal. The focus is on engineering rather than titles and roles allowing us to focus on what we do best; solving complex problems. Everything is agreeable, discussable, and open to discussion.

How did you find joining the company during the pandemic?

Tricky. I was used to working in the office and meeting people, regular standups, external activities and Lunch and Learn sessions that OpenCredo would run online. It helped a lot to connect with people.

Do you prefer working from home or the office now that you have the option?

It’s a mixture. It’s great to be able to have the social life balance
