At OpenCredo, we are passionate about open-source contributions. We are also excited about new and emerging technologies in Platform Engineering, one of our core areas of expertise.
This is why we are excited to announce our development of a promise for Kratix. Kratix is a framework for developing internal developer platforms (IDPs), built by Syntasso. With Kratix, you can build golden paths for your developers to quickly and simply get various types of infrastructure. Once a promise is created and installed, all a developer has to do is request that promise, and Kratix will handle the rest – like a straightforward API.
Promises in Kratix come in all shapes and forms. Examples include a PostgreSQL database, or a Grafana/Prometheus cluster. It could even be a full Spring Boot application, with installed and configured dependencies. Many of these promises are available on the Kratix Marketplace. Platform teams can install and use them right away, or fork and adapt them to their own needs.
Given another of our focuses as a company is data engineering, we have elected to develop a promise for Apache Flink. Flink is a powerful stream processor often used in real time applications. It is available on the marketplace, and on our GitHub profile, at the following link:
GitHub – opencredo/flink-kratix-promise: A Kratix Promise to deploy a Flink cluster
Installing this promise will enable you to spin up a Flink cluster in your Kubernetes cluster with ease. We hope you find it useful. And don’t forget to contact us if you ever need help with Kratix or Flink – or both combined!
